What is Broken Road Ministry?

Every Thursday night we get together for fellowship, dinner, praise, prayer, worship, and God’s word in hope of reaching those, like us, have been affected by the broken road of life.  We are a family who have been broken, lost, and beat down, BUT GOD.  We have come to know the love and grace of God as He has helped us recover and grow and through Christ Jesus, overcome those addictions, depressions, fears, anxieties, LIES, that the enemy has tried to use to destroy us!

~They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony~

Revelation 12:11

Our purpose is to provide a night mid-week where we can come to God’s house just as we are.  Not putting a mask to hide our struggles.  Our prayer and our goal is that this night welcomes EVERYONE to bring our brokenness, our addictions, our sins, our shame, our pain, our fears, our failures, and turn them over to Jesus and allow Him to fight those battles we were never designed to fight ourselves.

~For our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms~

Ephesians 6:12

Who is Broken Road for?

“Come to me, all you who are weary and heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-29

Whether you are a regular church attender or never set foot in a church.  Whether you have, like all sheep (us) have gone astray or never once called on God.  If you need the chain breaking, prison shaking Savior to come into your life and redeem you, or if you just want to have a night devoted praising our God and getting into His word and hearing testimonies from former captives YOU ARE INVITED!  Big or small we share each other’s burdens, we pray with each other, we praise God with each other, we lift each other up.  That goes for anyone who walks in the door.  To us it does not matter what brought you into Broken Road, we are just excited to see what works Jesus will do in your life if you simply ask, seek, and knock at His door.

~This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.  Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.  No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is made complete in us.  This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us his Spirit.  And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.  IF ANYONE ACKNOWLEDGES THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD, GOD LIVES IN THEM AND THEY IN GOD.  And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.  GOD IS LOVE.  Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. ~

1 John 4:10-16

Why Broken Road?

Traveling alone down a broken road long enough can put us in survival mode.  Doing everything in our own power to make it one more day, one more mile, around one more bend.  We hold onto things that dull the pain, help us forget the fear, feel familiar when really, we’re lost.  They get us to believe for one more moment we’re keeping it together when we are broken, falling apart.  We grow accustomed to this state.  Soon enough reality will become too obvious to ignore.  Everything we thought was getting us by was destroying us.  We believed a lie so long it became our truth.  That’s where Satan, the father of lies, wants us.

~So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me~

Romans 7:21-23

Satan is real. Evil is real. Hell is real.

I always give this disclaimer.  Just because you’re in a church doesn’t mean like you must act like you know Jesus if you don’t.  We are here to be real with ourselves.  Like the survival mode examples, fake it to make it will only get you so far until reality kicks in again.  If we don’t know Jesus and his unconditional love and grace and power to overcome ALL attacks from the devil, we’ll go right back to the destructive lies that kept us captives in darkness.

~What a wretched man I am!  Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?  THANKS BE TO GOD, WHO DELIVERS ME THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD! ~

Romans 7:24-25

God is real, Jesus is real, the Holy Spirit is real, Heaven is real.  It’s not about who you are or what you’ve done or been through.  It’s about who Jesus is, what Jesus did for you.

~If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.  As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” ~

Romans 10:9-11
